North Coast Repertory Theater

The Reading Service of the Redwoods is hosting its largest fundraising event of the year this Friday, September 16 at the North Coast Repertory Theater in Eureka. NCRT is presenting Neil Simon's The Odd Couple the Female Version. The funds raised during this performance will help the organization pay its operating costs.

Friends of the Dunes

Friends of the Dunes presents Wine by the Sea on Saturday, September 24 from 3-6 p.m. The funds raised at this event will help provide free outdoor education for local schools and much more at the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center. Staff member and Fund Development Director Beth Frink is our guest.


The Campus Dialogue on Race (CDOR) is an annual event at Humboldt State University that invites students, staff, faculty, administrators, and community members to present and attend programs that relate to racial justice and its intersections with all forms of oppression and resistance.  This year's Dialogue will run from October 31 – November 4, 2016.   The Keynote speaker is Ian Haney López who is the John H. Boalt Professor of Law at the University of California, Berkeley, where he teaches in the areas of race and constitutional law. You are invited to submit workshop proposals at humboldt.edu/dialogue.

Dr. Eloi Hoopman and Susan Wardrip, RN talked with KHSU on the Homepage about immunizing children before the school year begins and the changes to the rules eliminating the "Personal Belief Exemption" for child vaccines after California's SB 277 became law.

Dr. Hoopman is a physician with the Open Door Community Health Centers. Wardrip is a nurse and the immunization coordinator for Humboldt County Department of Health and Human Services.

The 16th Annual Lost Coast Kennel Club All Breed Shows (Conformation, Obedience, and Rally) will be held on July 1-3, 2016 at the Humboldt County Fair Grounds in Ferndale, Sara Borok gave details about the event on the Wednesday edition of the KHSU Homepage.
