Anthropology in Action in Honduras

Mar 14, 2018

"As an anthropologist, service means seeing the whole world as your backyard," says Dr. Jennifer Cavalari. "You see this kind of faulty distribution of resources." Calivari says service is one way to remedy this imbalance. The HSU alumna is co-founder and director of Sustainable Empowerment Leadership Organization, an international non-profit that collaborates with community members in Honduras to create sustainable initiatives for local challenges.

Cavalari spoke with KHSU's Brian Curtis about the different opportunities for students and community members to learn about anthropology in action, global medicine and how folks can participate in international service in Honduras.

HSU’s Department of Anthropology presents a talk by Cavalari on Monday, March 19 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Kate Buchanan Room.
