Dancing Conservationist John Griffith Got an Animal Planet Show

May 15, 2018

You might remember the Fortuna California Conservation Corps' John Griffith's viral video from several years ago. No? The one where the 'mountain man' boss shared dance moves with CCC's Antwon McCoy and Leonard Patton?

Sill no? Here's a refresher.

"We're celebrating the hardworking folks who've dedicated their lives to working with animals."

Six million views later, his career with the California Conservation Corps has veered into something a little more public: his own digital show for Animal Planet.

The first season of Wild Jobs dropped this week, available at the network's website as well as on the network's mobile app, Animal Planet GO. [Those videos are not embeddable, so click here for episodes.]

Wild Jobs shows him working with snakes, horses, baboons, etc. - and the people working to protect those species. Here is Griffith's teaser from his own Youtube channel.

According to Griffith's Facebook page: "We’re celebrating the hardworking folks who’ve dedicated their lives to working with animals. And no job is too dirty or too dangerous for me to take on."

Griffith currently resides in Ukiah and frequently spends weekends on the redwood coast, and has lived in Humboldt on seven different occasions. " I am a Humboldt expat, and I will be back," he tells KHSU.

Griffith joins Guy Fieri and Bobo as Humboldt's cable-network ambassadors. And if you want to find out what happened to Griffith's co-stars from that first dancing video, here's an update from McCoy's wedding.
