We get opinions and analysis on this week’s news from Anna Griffin, Kevin Mannix, and Mike Marshall.

For more than a year, volunteers, staff and social workers have questioned the health and safety of Portland's largest shelter for families with children. Earlier this month, the roof fell in. OPB’s Amelia Templeton fills us in.

As "Black Panther" breaks cultural barriers and box office records, the conversation is building around black representation in the film and comics worlds. Local writer, educator and filmmaker David F. Walker joins us to talk about black comics culture, why black heroes matter, and more. We’ll also hear about the closing weekend of the 2018 Portland Black Film Festival, which Walker curates.
