"Whether it's running for office or volunteering on a campaign or just learning more about how local government works, there're ways for everybody to get involved," says organizer Tamara McFarland.
On June 9th, the North Coast People's Alliance is presenting Run, Serve, Lead!, An Introduction to Civic Engagement at 6:00 p.m. at The Arcata Playhouse.
The workshop will provide information for anyone considering running for office, applying to serve on an appointed board or commission, volunteering for a local campaign, or becoming a more actively engaged citizen.
There will be Q&A with Humboldt officials Kim Bergel, Mike Wilson, Sofia Pereira, Dana Silvernale, and Mary Burke.
