The city of Arcata issued a news release about the David Josiah Lawson homicide investigation late Monday. KHSU had offered a one-hour interview to city officials to respond to KHSU's and the North Coast Journal's interviews with former FBI agent Tom Parker and Arcata civil rights attorney Shelley Mack.

Former FBI Special Agent Thomas Parker and local civil rights attorney Shelley Mack joined KHSU's Lorna Bryant of The Race Beat and The California Report's Polly Stryker in the KHSU studios this weekend to record their thoughts on the David Josiah Lawson homicide investigation.  


After today's announcement about the Arcata Police Chief's resignation, Arcata City Manager Karen Diemer sent an email to local media to answer frequently-asked questions.

Diemer also released Chapman's brief letter of resignation.

UPDATE: HSU Mourns the Loss of Erin Henry

Twenty-two year old Erin Henry, a Humboldt State University student and resident of Arcata, has been missing for nearly 10 days. Her roommate reported her disappearance to the Arcata Police Department. Officials say Henry is without her phone, wallet and car which were all found at her residence.
