Former FBI Special Agent Thomas Parker and local civil rights attorney Shelley Mack joined KHSU's Lorna Bryant of The Race Beat and The California Report's Polly Stryker in the KHSU studios this weekend to record their thoughts on the David Josiah Lawson homicide investigation.
The North Coast Journal's Kimberley Wear sat in for the interview and reported on it.
The interview came during a weekend of remembrance for David Josiah Lawson on the first anniversary of his death.
It also came after a busy week that saw the resignation of Arcata Police Chief Tom Chapman, assurances by Arcata city officials that the homicide investigation remains on track, and FBI agent Parker's announcement that he was stepping away from his role as a consultant to the city's investigation.
Parker and Mack use the interview to go into unprecedented detail about why he stepped away from the case. Mack filed a civil claim on Friday against the city of Arcata on behalf of David Lawson's mother, Charmaine Lawson.
