ABOUT THE SHOWS
Lord Ellis, founded in 2011, brings together 25 years of Humboldt County rock tradition. Bands like The Hitch, Dragged by Horses, Sake and Grimace were the precursors of this latest incarnation that promises to knock you off your feet, step on your head, then maybe give you a hand up.
A Company of Voices began its journey in October of 2014 when Anna Gaines and Elisabeth Harrington decided to gather their singing friends and form an a cappella chamber choir. Combining their collective singing experience and appreciation of diverse vocal repertoire, the group has explored a varied palette of music--from Renaissance to Spirituals to Contemporary “Classical,” to Jazz.
Word Humboldt Edit | RemoveWord Humboldt is a spoken word collective centered around a weekly open mic featuring nationally-touring poets + community based themes.
Object Heavy draws from the sound of soul music. Inspired by the parameters of Rock, Funk, Blues, R&B and Hip Hop, the band features Two voices which really capture their versatility with lyrics, reminding us of a world in need, a world to love and a place to be free. Their self-titled 1st album features Bill Summers, percussionist of the acclaimed "HeadHunters". DJ Logic shows up on two tracks, and you'll get to hear the Legendary Fred Wesley with his signature trombone. Sleep and Zone(Macklemore) of "The Chicharones" and Raashan Ahmad of the "Crown City Rockers" are featured, showing Object Heavy's love for Hip Hop.
