Slow for Snow: Local Road Closures

Humboldt County officials have issued a snow and ice advisory:

>Road conditions for Feb. 22

The following road closures are in effect:

  1. Meridian Road @ m.p. 0.75
  2. Bair Road

 

The following roads are opened with conditions:

  • Horse Mountain Road (aka Titlow Hill Road) – chains required on all vehicles
  • Alder Point Road – snow tires okay; 4-wheel drive vehicles okay; carry chains
  • Shelter Cove Road – snow tires okay; 4-wheel drive vehicles okay; carry chains
  • Bald Hills Road – chains required
  • Kneeland Road – snow tires okay; 4-wheel drive vehicles okay; carry chains
  • Fickle Hill Road – snow tires okay; 4-wheel drive vehicles okay; carry chains
  • Mattole Road – chains required

CalTrans is reporting the following conditions for State Route 36:

CHAINS ARE REQUIRED ON ALL VEHICLES EXCEPT 4-WHEEL-DRIVE VEHICLES WITH SNOW TIRES ON ALL 4 WHEELS FROM 3 MI WEST OF MAD RIVER TO FOREST GLEN (TRINITY CO) /SOUTH FORK MOUNTAIN
